Folks, this climate change thinggy is getting really serious. The Launceston Examiner opines that the ‘art of winemaking is at risk’ and that with climate change, we’ll have unleash all our technology to make balanced wines. ‘Wine .. produced with low intervention .. and as a gift from nature’ will be a thing of the past. Someone has to do something!

When I tried to send out Maelor’s List complete with complete URLs, it was returned telling me it was rejected due to spam in an URL. Since I cannot tell which one, I have deleted all URLs in favour of giving just the publication name so you can google the publication and include the title of the article to read further. The Age editorial regarding the timely wake-up call from the Chinese regarding our waste would have been my pick today.

The Age is on the money in the suggestion that we can profit from the recycling ‘crisis’, or is that the recycling ‘wake-up call’? It should not be beyond our wit to reduce our waste and then manage what is left to our national advantage.

To say the climate change threshold we’ve just crossed is ‘troubling’ is somewhat of an understatement. ‘Scary’ might be closer. As a fresh-faced Form 2 boy at Shepp High, I was taught that atmospheric CO2 was at 330 ppm. In one lifetime, that’s a whopping increase and we are locked in for more. Yes, I reckon ‘scary’ might be closer.
