Wentworth result won’t prompt climate rethink, says Frydenberg. The rethink should have been prompted long before the Wentworth byelection but after it, it ought to be bleedingly obvious what people want! Representative democracy assumes responsible and responsive government.

‘The only way to deal with global warming is to tackle global warming’. Giving nearly a half billion dollars to a group led by a board comprising resource industry people to ‘climate-proof’ the Reef without tackling causes of global warming is just waste, so little wonder a marketing campaign re the climate- proofing has been pulled. We might see some change after the Wentworth result.
